Binding Basics
Learn basic quilt binding with 2 ½ inch strips on a sample project so you can confidently bind your own quilts! The class will cover trimming the project, preparing the binding strips, machine sewing the binding on, mitering corners, connecting the ends and finish stitching.
This 4-hour class is for beginners who are ready to bind their own project. See additional required materials list below.
Class comes with 4 hours of intensive instruction with Katey.
Required materials:
- * A quilted sample project with minimum size 15” square, maximum size 30” square. Best to use two fat quarters with batting and basic quilting. This is intended to be a practice item.
- * 3 fabric strips cut to 2 ½ inches x WOF
- Cotton thread
- A small acrylic quilting ruler with ¼” marked
- Pins and/or Clips
- A working sewing machine with a ¼” machine foot
- Sewing kit and preferred notions and tools (including seam ripper)
- Ruler and rotary cutter (optional)
